All in a Days Raut!

The quietest part of the day in camp is just after lunch. The generators are turned off and everyone returns to their tents for a quiet nap. Even the constantly squabbling squirrels have quieted their racket.to escape the heat of the day. Everyone has got the memo except for two young bull elephants down by the waterhole.
As they spar playfully birds are scattered by the thundering legs and sprays of mud and water. They rumble and shout at each other as one gets a little too ambitious with its tusks. Some geese sit on the side looking quite disgusted with the whole affair while the egrets settle in a circle around the waterhole, seemingly placing bets on who would win the raut.

One of the young bulls manages to pull up a pipe that is used to fill the waterhole. While brandishing it above his head he charges the white egrets sending them off in flight, only to find that they have settled behind him. This is obviously the name of the game as he rushes back, shaking his head and trumpeting. He slaps the water a few times with the pipe but on the lack of effect on the now totally billigerent birds, he tosses it aside and ambles off to find someone else to irritate.
